What is HealthyWage?
HealthyWage is a company pays you to be healthy! We're the health incentive experts, focusing on helping community and corporate sponsors reward long-term behavior changes and promote wellness.  We also offer corporate products that help companies who want to reward their employees or customers for improved health. We understand that changing behaviors can be difficult. Our aim is to empower our users to better understand their health and take positive steps so they can achieve their wellness goals.
HealthyWage and its experts do not dispense medical advice—instead, our goal is to support and motivate you and keep you mindful of the daily choices you make and how they impact your health. We’re your partner on every step of your journey, providing tools to help you succeed during the time you’re away from your doctor.

How does HealthyWage work?
HealthyWage is in the business of using incentives to help individuals and corporations reward health improvement. Numerous clinical studies prove that financial incentives work in helping people achieve their health goals. HealthyWage makes it possible for anyone to have the kind of success seen in those clinical studies. We’ve been featured in Time, Yahoo! Health, Fox News, on Huffington Post. and many other media outlets. We offer a variety of challenges with cash rewards for free, we also offer ‘supersized’ challenges where users can invest their own money to increase their incentive and reward.

Is this for real?  How do I know you won’t take my money and run?
While we offer many features and challenges that are fully paid for by sponsors and free to users, some users may choose to ‘supersize’ their reward by investing their own money. HealthyWage treats these funds in a very specific way. All “bets” are deposited and held in a special trust account at Citibank,  where no one has access to the user's money until the user's completion of a given challenge. Funds are completely locked in this trust account for the full duration of any user’s challenge duration and cannot be withdrawn by either the user, or by us.

What do I have to do to get a cash incentive from the BMI Challenge?
It’s pretty simple. You must start with a BMI of at least 30, and you must have a BMI of less than 25 on your Victory Date (which is exactly one year after your Start Date). At the start of your challenge you will be required to print a special verification form and take it to get “weighed-in” at either your doctor or a participating health club – this is how we keep everyone honest. From then on you simply must weigh-in each week of the year  on the HealthyWage website (using your own scale is fine. At the end of the challenge, you’ll be required to go back to your doctor, or the health club and verify your ending weight.  To make sure you have time to get an appointment or weigh-in we give youa 60 day window to get weighed-in at the start and at the finish of your challenge. If you don’t complete your first and last weigh-ins within that window you will be disqualified.

Do I have to get my weekly weigh-in verified?
Nope. Once you’ve weighed in at your doctor or a health club you can just step on the scale and enter your weight on the website for future weigh-ins; no verification needed. The weekly weigh-in is about you and your health: it provides a way for you to remain accountable, stay on track and being accountable and supportive each week. It also helps to get you back on track (or get back on track!), and get some support while pursuing your goals.  For social networking purposes, we’ll be careful to share only your week-to-week weight change (e.g., “Jane lost 3 Lbs. this week”), and NOT your actual weight. You won’t need to go back to your doctor or health club to get your weight “verified” again until the end of the challenge.

How does HealthyWage make money?
HealthyWage makes money from advertising and corporate partnerships. Companies want to be able to advertise their products to people focused on improving their health, and an increasing number of employers are looking for ways to incentivize their employees to get healthy. Wellness is a hot topic in our country; we earn money from companies who want to be associated with healthy living via sponsorship of health incentives and contests, and from employers who want to help their employees become healthier.

How do I change my password?
Click on “forgot password?” – it’s just to the left of the sign-in dialogue, at the top of the homepage. We’ll send you your password.

How do I cancel my HealthyWage account?
We’re sorry to see you go. If your experience was unpleasant, please let us know. We will do our best to fix it fast!   We know incentives and online wellness may not be for everyone. If you’re sure you want to cancel, please send an email to info@healthywage.com with “CANCEL” (and no other words) in the subject line of the email. A reminder:  there are no refunds on the SuperSizer products (the $150 and $300 options to invest your own money) because these funds are locked in a trust fund until the end of your challenge.   If you cancel your account, you will not longer be eligible for any incentives, and you will be removed from the HealthyWage website.

Where do I find my BMI Challenge Registration Number?
It appears automatically on your Verify Me! Form. You can find the Verify Me! Form on the friends page, just to the right of the timer for the weekly weigh-in.

What is a sponsor?
Our cash rewards come from corporate sponsors, including food, drug, healthy lifestyle companies. During the course of your challenge we may ask that you choose one of our sponsors to pay you the $100. The sponsor will be able to send you a message on the HealthyWage website (your personal information will not be shared) and may provide you with additional coupons/rewards. One sponsor option will be HealthyWage--we believe in the power of incentives are putting our own money on the line.

What does it mean to Supersize my HealthyWage?
HealthyWage allows you to enhance your motivation by putting your own cash at risk when you enroll---SuperSizing your HealthyWage reward amount.  If you invest $300, your reward amount will be $1000.  If you invest $150, your reward amount will be $400.  (If you don't invest anything, your reward amount will be $100.)  Studies suggest that you are more likely to achieve a goal if you put your own money at risk, for two reasons: (1) you don't want to lose your money; and, (2) you're excited about earning a larger reward.

Who created the HealthyWage medical materials?
