Same here, 3 kids & a husband that can eat anything & everything w/o gaining a pound. I find that a light breakfast of a piece of fruit & coffee or 2 eggs & fruit helps me. I also discovered lemon juice/Ms.Dash on just about anything helps the flavor and is less salt. I swear by it even on eggs. Lunch yogurt and some fruit, or fruit and a salad.

i cant get the page to accept the food i've eaten in the food log...anybody have any siggestions
taranehf, 1 month ago
If you're talking about having it accept your journal log at the end of the day, I can't get it to do that, either. It wants me to enter more stuff that's not food-related. I just let it be. Otherwise, Colley is right.

Makee sure you press "save and close" after you have made the entries. You may have to scroll down, it is at the bottom of the page.

Yesterday my husband planned a high calorie/high fat meal for supper. I managed to keep my calories in check by making good choices for breakfast and lunch and by eating small portions of the rich food. Planning ahead really pays off!

I've also decided that Sunday is my day off from HAVING to do anything. If I don't feel like tracking calories that day, I don't. If I don't feel like exercising, I don't. It's nice to have a day off, and it makes it easier to transition on the other days.

How do you add a food item to your journal after you add it. I clicked on the "cant find foods" link the entered my item... but I still was not able to add it to the journal
taranehf, 1 month ago
Once you've entered your food's nutrition facts through the "enter your food information," you then have to search for what you've entered as if it's already in the system. I figure they'll get better at stuff like this, but until we use it and give them feedback, this is what you've gotta do. Good luck!

Hey there, gen pop. Is anyone else having trouble navigating this site? I've lost THREE POUNDS in three days, so I'm loving it, of course, but I think I'm doing it wrong. Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to navigate the site that I could be pointed to? I've been entering my weight everyday because it's cool to see it go down, but the system seems to think I'm in week three instead of day three (at least on the graphs). And my other questions haven't been answered yet. So, still confused. If an answer is out there, and it rests with you, the person reading this, please respond. I could use the help. Thanks!

Thanks, Colley. That's what I'm going to do. I've been talking offline with the founder, and they seem to welcome suggestions to make the site better for us users. That's pretty cool.
cmwc2005, 1 month ago
it is a WEEKLY weigh in..that's why it thinks you are in week 3...dont add it daily.
colley, 1 month ago
Hi! Yes, this site is confusing. Hopefully it is a beta mode and they will be working the bugs out sooner rather than later. I haven't been able to find any tutorials and have mostly just been figuring out how it operates by experimenting. For example, I just figured out how to add activity two days ago. Good Grief! This site doesn't seem to hacve a way to change your weigh-ins. My recomendation would be to just start weighing in weekly and ignore the results on the early graphs.

If I need to lose 62 pounds total, and I've started this thing yesterday, AND I want to lose two pounds a week, not the three the food journal is pushing me towards, how do I do that? Because I worked out today, and I've only eaten breakfast and lunch, and now I don't have enough calories left for dinner, and I've only consumed between 800 and 900 calories thus far. Way confusing. Help...anyone!

In the journal, I wanted to add the workout I just did, but it's not listed there, and so I had to fudge it. How do I add my own, like I would with food?
taranehf, 1 month ago
...and by "fudge it," I mean I manipulated the minutes until it put the calories burned from the treadmill's workout summary.

Where do I get the form for the Dr to verify my weight?
Marty, the HW Coach, 1 month ago
It's on the friends page, just to the right of the weekly weigh-in timer.

carol513, 1 month ago
where can I put in my height so that my BMI will show? It shows as 0 now. The only thing I can get to is to put my weight in
Marty, the HW Coach, 1 month ago
Go to "My Profile" at the top of the page. You can enter your height in the "About me" section.

My S.O. needs 3x the calories that I need in a day... how do I keep myself in check when we eat together?
Issa09, 1 month ago
thanks for the idea about using smaller dishes, thats been helping so far. It is a challenge when the person you live with consumes more than you and 3 times the calories is not as unrealistic as it seems considering he's a 24 year old athlete who's 10% body fat and roughly 70lbs heavier than me. It can also be intimidating being with someone in excellent athletic shape so if anyone has suggestions again for portion control or confidence boosters I'd appreciate your suggestions! Thanks for the help and support!
taranehf, 1 month ago
I've just started using different sized dishes for my SO and me. Traditionally men need more calories than women, so you're going to run into that. Also, the bigger you are, the more calories you get to eat (at least in the beginning). Weird, but true.
mortaine, 1 month ago
Wow-- THREE TIMES?!? You know, unless you're really petite and your SO is a very large athlete, chances are they don't really need 3 times the calories as you do. But if they do, or if you can't convince them they don't, perhaps you can ask them to slightly modify their eating habits by eating more meals throughout the day when you're apart. Or, give yourself healthier, more filling foods. Eventually, you won't even want the calorie-dense stuff your SO is eating.

Sticking to the healthy diet on special days. Today was my daughters birthday and I ate more than I should have;howev er, because I joined this group I was very consious and ate a lot less.
jrflemingj, 2 months ago
The trouble with using a smaller plate is that I jsut end up going back for seconds.
mortaine, 2 months ago
I implemented a rule. I can go for seconds, but only if I wait 10-15 minutes between plates and then really ask myself if I'm still hungry for more. If I am, then seconds are OK. It takes about 20 minutes for the nerve in your stomach to say "I'm full."

Have you ever taken the time to breath in between bites, and I mean finish a bite, breath, and then take another. That will actually help a lot. I did not realize this before, but I was never breathing in between or with no food in my mouth.
Beka80, 2 months ago
Same here. I found out that actually slowing down your eating helps. Chewing your food throughly and savoring everybit of it, helps you feel fuller faster. Sometimes eliminating the 2nd round...

Hi Determined, If you click on the friends tab, when that page comes up you can not miss the weight entry box.. Good Luck.. This has worked for me

I am very excited to get started. I am up for the challenge. Not sure where to enter my weight though, can someone let mw know. Thanks so much!!

Reno65, 2 months ago
I don't see where to enter activity within the food journal? I've looked everywhere!
Bob, 2 months ago
Go into the journal..click on the time of day..you will enter the window that allows you to enter food..in the upper left hand corner of that window you will see the words activities, sleep, mood, stress and some others just click on top of the word and activities and you will be on the activities page, start typing what you did and it will start searching..there are endless things on this list. If you do this thing daily, click the check mark that is the favorites and you wont have to hunt next time.. MAke sure you put in the correct minutes you did the activity so it can calculate an actual calorie loss.

Clean out your kitchen and get rid of all the non healthy foods..If it is not there you can not eat it.

If I keep a glass of water with a straw around I find I eat alot less, I think sometimes when I grab food it is out of boredom and if I have a sip of water it takes care of me
