“I feel better now than I ever have…like a totally different person,” say Lori B., reflecting on her incredible weight loss transformation. “I am healthy, fit and determined to keep [this] lifestyle forever.”
Not one to have encountered weight issues in the past, Lori found herself steadily gaining weight, and within three years, she was 65 pounds heavier than before. “I tried a few things to lose weight with no luck, and it made me even more depressed,” she recalls. Lori got serious and lost 15 pounds. However, it wasn’t until she came across HealthyWage, that she finally found the motivation and accountability she needed to continue losing weight.
Lori bet $200 a month for 7 months that she would lose 47 pounds. She surpassed her goal, lost 48 pounds and won $2,810!
“I looked at HealthyWage as a savings account that I couldn’t touch. What motivated me throughout the entire [HealthyWager] competition, was not losing the money I was putting in. It forced me to keep myself accountable.”
In order to lose 48 pounds, Lori had to make serious changes to her diet and fitness. By removing simple carbs from her diet and adding CrossFit to her exercise regimen, Lori began seeing the pounds come off. “I forced myself out of plateaus by changing up my diet and workouts.” This included experimenting with the Keto and Paleo diets, intermittent fasting, as well as incorporating hot yoga in addition to her CrossFit workouts.
48 pounds lighter from when she started her HealthyWager challenge, Lori couldn’t be happier with the success she’s achieved. “My weight loss has gone into every area of my life. I’ve now accomplished other goals that I hadn’t before because of fear of rejection and failure. Even though I’ve had to work harder than I ever have in my life to get the weight off, it makes the victory that much sweeter.”
